May 5-6, 2010 CTCA Educational ConferenceTB In Your Practice: Focus on Co-MorbiditiesLong Beach HiltonDear TB Control Staff and Community Colleagues, You are cordially invited to attend the 44th CTCA Annual Educational Conference on May 5-6 in Long Beach, CA. The Francis J. Curry National TB Center will offer an additional half day of TB training at the conference site on May 7, and we hope that many attendees will also take advantage of this opportunity. This year’s conference will focus on TB co-morbidities and the importance of working effectively with private medical care providers to manage TB in the context of other risk factors and diseases. It is increasingly important for public health and the private sector to cooperate in managing TB patients with diabetes and other co-morbid conditions and we believe that this conference will be an important step in that direction. We are making a special effort to attract community physicians and are very excited about the topics and the quality of the faculty. The CTCA Annual Business Meeting, formerly known as the TB Controllers Meeting, on May 5 is open to everyone. Participants will hear updates on TB policies, funding issues, and advocacy activities. TB Controllers will have an opportunity to network with colleagues and vote on guidelines and other issues of critical importance to local TB programs. There will be minimal overlap with the Nurses and Allied Health Professionals Forum (NAHPF). Short presentations and the popular radiograph case presentations will be held in the afternoon. On May 6, Conference attendees will hear outstanding presentations from experts in both TB and in the management of TB co-morbidities, and breakout sessions will allow ample opportunity for questions and interaction with faculty. A special breakout session will include private providers and focus on public-private partnerships. Thursday evening Cellestis, Inc. is orchestrating an opportunity to take part in a dinner presentation and private tour at the Aquarium of the Pacific. This event will have a separate registration process. For more information, go to ctca.org and click on the CTCA Conference link from the homepage. We look forward to seeing you in Long Beach and sharing ideas and information of critical importance in the management of TB in California.
