Targeted School Screening

What it is:

Cover letter and protocol designed to be sent to schools and school nurses that highlights and explains rationale for moving away from universal testing of children without risk factors to targeted skin testing of higher risk children.   Protocol describes in detail how to implement targeted screening in the school setting.

Why this is a best practice:

Saves resources by avoiding testing populations with low yield and focuses limited resources on higher risk groups.

Resources required (staff, time, tools):
Staff to adapt letter and protocol to local needs.  Tools include a cover letter (.pdf) (including a sample risk assessment questionnaire) and a protocol for use in school setting (.pdf) (including an algorithm and references).

Protocols, forms, tools, templates, documents available?
